Many cyclists take part in the Randonnee 2024 cycling race PHOTOS

Here is a collection of images from the famous Isle of Wight sporting event Wayfarers Cycling Randonnéeit was in full swing today (Sunday).

Thousands of riders of all ages and abilities have taken their own pace and tackled 60k or 100k trails.

Cyclists started from different points of the island in a clockwise direction.

Last year the free-to-attend event raised £14,000 for Isle of Wight charities, almost double the amount raised in 2022.

In addition, refreshment stations, mainly run by representatives of local schools, also made money.

It’s a family event and riders collect badges if they complete it.

The Randonnee follows the paths of the Isle of Wight and many volunteers help man the many checkpoints from 8am to 6pm.

The event has been running since 1985, two years after the Wayfarer Cycleturing Club was founded.
